'''Anker Emil Halvorsen''' was one of the [[Norwegian%20Sailors|Norwegian Sailors]] who cured in Saranac Lake during World War II. He was an able seaman and gunner from Bergen, Norway, who went to sea in the summer of 1939. 

On 8/24/1943, Dr. [[J.%20N.%20Hayes|J. N. Hayes]] saw Anker Halvorsen from Bergen, Norway, who was a seaman, age 22. His address in Saranac Lake was [[90%20Riverside%20Drive|90 Riverside Drive]]. <sup>1</sup> 

Halvorsen died at the [[Spear%20Cottage|Spears Sanatorium]] after having been sick for a year and a half. He is buried in [[Pine%20Ridge%20Cemetery|Pine Ridge Cemetery]] with the other Norwegian sailors.
