SARANAC LAKE — William F. Ohmann, 68, of [[Breezy%20Acres|Breezy Acres]], Saranac Lake, died Friday, May 14, 1993 at the Veterans' Hospital at White River Junction, Vt.

Born June 26, 1924 in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Joseph and Phoebe (Betters) Ohmann.

A lifelong resident of Saranac Lake, he attended local schools. He had been a foreman for the Pre-Stress Co. of Syracuse, and had helped build the [[LaPan%20Highway|LaPan Highway]] bridge and several others around the state. He also had worked for [[Lex%20Thompson|Lex Thompson]], and worked on the [[Thompson%20Building|Thompson Building]] on [[Broadway|Broadway]], and also the [[Eagle's%20Nest|Eagle's Nest]] on [[Lake%20Street|Lake Street]]. He also worked as a heavy equipment operator for the village of Saranac Lake.

He was also a veteran of World War II, seeing action in Normandy, Northern France, and the Rhineland.

Survivors include two brothers, Ray of Saranac Lake and Stanley of [[Lake%20Clear|Lake Clear]]; a sister, Margaret Rogoski of Utica; four nieces and several cousins.

Calling hours will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m., with funeral services scheduled for Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the [[Fortune-Keough%20Funeral%20Home|Fortune-Keough Funeral Home]] in Saranac Lake, the Rev. [[Jude%20Belisle|Jude Belisle]] officiating. Interment will be in [[St.%20Bernard's%20Cemetery|St. Bernard's Cemetery]].

Memorial donations may be made to the High Peaks Hospice in care of the funeral home.
