'''PROPRIETOR OF THE ALPINE TAVERN DEAD'''

Albert E. Foster, 38, proprietor of the [[Alpine%20tavern|Alpine tavern]] in Saranac Lake for the past two years, died Thursday, March 24 at the [[Saranac%20Lake%20General%20hospital|Saranac Lake General hospital]] where he had been a patient.

Mr. Foster had been suffering from ulcers of the stomach for some time, according to his physician, Dr. [[Malcolm%20F.%20Lent|Malcolm F. Lent]]. Although in ill health, he had been active in his business until a few days previous to his attack.

Mr. Foster was a member of the [[Loyal%20Order%20of%20Moose%20|Saranac Lake lodge of Moose]], which conducted a service for him Thursday night at the [[James%20A.%20Fortune|James A. Fortune]] funeral chapel on [[Woodruff%20street|Woodruff street]].

The body was taken to St. Malachie, Canada, for burial.
