'''Berton John Sweeney''', known as '''Jack''', graduated from [[Saranac%20Lake%20High%20School|Saranac Lake High School]] in 1949. He was a [[Korean%20War%20veteran|Korean War veteran]] of the US Navy. Along with Doug Bombard and other friends, Jack was instrumental in creating the original T-bar at [[Mt.%20Pisgah|Mt. Pisgah]].  He worked at [[Newman%20%26%20Holmes|Newman & Holmes]] for nine years, and at [[Bouyea%20Baking%20Company|Bouyea Baking Company]] for 27 years, retiring in 1991.  He was a member of the [[Saranac%20Lake%20Volunteer%20Fire%20Department|Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department]] for 37 years.

A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, at [[St.%20Bernard's%20church|St. Bernard's church]]. Burial will follow at [[St.%20Bernard's%20Cemetery|St. Bernard's Cemetery]] in Saranac Lake.
