'''Charles L. Sherrill''' operated [[Sherrill%27s%20Grocery|Sherrill's Grocery]] at [[48%20Main%20Street|48 Main Street]] in the late 1800s; he bought the store from [[Milo%20B.%20Miller|Milo B. Miller]] some time after 1865. In 1899 he sold the store to [[Marion%20D.%20Tremble|Marion D. Tremble]]. 

He was the first assistant engineer of the [[Woodruff%20Hose%20Company|Woodruff Hose Company]].  He served as  treasurer of the [[Saranac%20Lake%20Driving%20Association|Saranac Lake Driving Association]]. He was a member of the [[T.B.%20Society|T.B. Society]], and of the [[Pontiac%20Club|Pontiac Club]], which sold property to the [[Saranac%20Lake%20Boys'%20Club|Saranac Lake Boys' Club]], Inc., in 1917.

He is reported to have purchased a Peerless or Chalmers automobile in 1917.
