It appears that the Frances Lake Thacher whose page this is may have had a daughter by the same name who was born <span style="">June 18, 1908 and died May 31, 1917. Her early death might explain the child in the window design.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 30— Mrs. Frances Lake Thacher, widow of Dr. John Seymour Thacher, a New York physician, died here today at the home of her son, John Seymour Thacher, director of Harvard University's Dumbarton Oaks Research Library and Collection in this city. Her age was 90.
