Bombard''' operated [[Fowler%27s%20Livery|Fowler's Livery]] (later Bombard's Livery) on the corner of [[Main%20Street|Main Street]] and [[Broadway|Broadway]], between Broadway and the [[Saranac%20River|Saranac River]]; he also raced horses.  He was involved in the development of the [[Petrova%20Avenue|Petrova Avenue]] area.  He came to Saranac Lake with his family in 1898.  The family lived at [[Bombard%20Cottage|40 Petrova Avenue]]. 

He was a son of [[Celinda%20Bombard|Celinda]] and [[Joseph%20Bombard|Joseph Bombard]], a farmer from [[Franklin|Franklin]], according to the 1875 New York census.
