<span>Mrs.<span> James<span> W.<span> Littlejohn,<span> of<span> Loon<span> Lake, died<span> at the<span> home<span> of<span> her<span> daughter,<span> Mrs.<span> Albert Stickney,<span> at<span><span style=""> <span style=""> <span style=""> <span style=""> <span style="">  Lake Placid,<span> on Wednesday last, where she had been stopping<span> for<span> medical treatment,<span> and was<span> buried from<span> the<span> old homestead<span> in<span> [[Merrillsville|Merrillsville]]<span> on<span> Saturday.<span> She had<span> been ailing<span> since last spring with<span> a<span> heart difficulty<span> which steadily<span> run its<span> course.<span> For<span> years<span> Mr. and Mrs. Littlejohn, almost<span> a<span> generation ago, conducted<span> a<span> hotel<span> at<span> Merrillsville<span> and<span> their circle<span> of<span> friends<span> was<span> a<span> wide one, extending well throughout Northern New York.<span> Mrs. Littlejohn<span> was<span> a<span> woman<span> of<span> substantial character<span> and<span> worth, loving, kind<span> and<span> generous,<span> and<span> in<span> her health was possessed<span> of<span> much energy<span> and executive ability.<span> The<span> news<span> of her<span> death will bring sadness<span> to<span> many hearts.<span> As<span> a wife<span> and<span> mother<span> she<span> was<span> devoted<span> and will<span> be<span> greatly missed<span> in the<span> home<span> which has been<span> in<span> recent years severely<span> afflicted.<span> Her<span> husband<span> and two<span> daughters survive. Mrs. Stickney of<span> Lake<span> Placid,<span> and<span> Mrs.<span> [[Sadie%20McAllister|Sadie McAllister]], who resides<span> at<span> home with<span> her<span> father.<span> Rev. Mr. Macintosh,<span> of<span> Malone,<span> a<span> friend<span> of the<span> family, officiated<span> at the<span> funeral service.<span> The sympathy<span> of<span> a<span> large circle<span> of<span> friends<span> and acquaintances<span> in<span> Malone goes<span> out to<span> Mr. Littlejohn<span> and<span> daughters<span> in<span> their<span> great affliction.
