'''Henry B. Loomis Smith''' was [[Paul%20Smith|Paul Smith]]'s first son, named for New York Doctor [[Hezekiah%20B.%20Loomis|Hezekiah B. Loomis]], who loaned Smith $13,000 to start [[Paul%20Smith%27s%20Hotel|Paul Smith's Hotel]] in 1859. Henry Smith was one of the [[guides|guides]] photographed by A. W. Durkee at [[Paul%20Smith%27s|Paul Smith's]] boathouse on October 2, 1885. Henry died of pneumonia at age 29.
