SARANAC LAKE — James H. Whooley of [[Sugarbush|Sugarbush]] died Saturday morning, Oct. 18, at his home.

He was born September 5, 1902 in New York City, the son of John and Lenora Madigan Whooley.

Mr. Whooley is survived by two sisters, Miss Mary C. Whooley, with whom he made his home, Lenora Carwellos of Lake Ronkonkoma Long Island; a brother, John J. of Sugarbush; and three foster sisters, Mrs. Florence Bell of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Phyllis Billingham of Massachusetts and Mrs. Marjorie O'Connell of Catyville. [sic]

Two nephews also survive. Mr. Whooley was a [[Masons|mason]] by trade and had worked in the area most of his life.

A Bible Vigil was held Saturday, a t 8 p.m., at the [[Fortune%20Funeral%20Home|Fortune Funeral Home]].  A Mass of Christian Burial was held this morning at 11 in [[St.%20Paul's%20Church|St. Paul's Church]] in [[Bloomingdale|Bloomingdale]] with Father [[Peter%20Ward|Peter Ward]] and [[Frederick%20Mader|Frederick Mader]] officiating.

Interment followed in [[St.%20Paul's%20Cemetery|St. Paul's Cemetery]], Bloomingdale.
