Reginald William <span class="quotations">“Reggie” D’Ambrisi, 77, of Saranac Lake, U.S. Navy retired, died Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at his residence.

Born in Moriah on Feb. 10, 1942, he was the son of Michael and Vivan (Hopkins) D’Ambrisi.

Reggie married Paula Lamphere on Nov. 24, 1989, in Norwich, Connecticut. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1965 and served until his retirement in 1981. During his time in the Navy, Reggie was part of the Seebees.

Reggie was a volunteer firefighter in Saranac Lake and Laurel Hill Fire Department in Norwich, Connecticut. He was an avid collector of firefighter and EMT memorabilia.

Following retirement, Reggie returned to work, working for the Adirondack Daily Enterprise in the mail room, for Citizen Advocates as a janitorial supervisor and as a security guard for General Dynamics in Connecticut.

Reggie was an avid book reader, favoring Louis L’Amour novels. Reggie had a love for animals and was extremely fond of his cat of 20 years, Nigel, who predeceased him in June 2019.

Reggie is survived by his wife Paula A. (Lamphere) D’Ambrisi; one sister, Val D’Ambrisi of Saranac Lake; a brother, Michael (Debbie) D’Ambrisi of Rainbow Lake; and a stepson, Matthew O’Brien.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father Vivan and Michael (Hopkins) D’Ambrisi.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the [[Fortune-Keough%20Funeral%20Home|Fortune-Keough Funeral Home]] in Saranac Lake. There will be no calling hours. Burial will take place in at a later date at the convenience of the family.
