Funeral services for Richard Cross, 24, who was killed Dec. 30 in a plane crash near Fairbanks, Alaska, have not been completed. His mother, Mrs. Eunice Cross, employed in the sewing room at [[Ray%20Brook%20Hospital|Ray Brook Hospital]], said today that burial will probably be in Schenectady, the former home of his wife, Deloris.

Employed as a mechanic for Pan-American Airlines, Cross died when a plane on which he was traveling crashed into a hill during a snow storm about 30 miles from Fairbanks. The entire crew, of which he was the mechanic, was killed. He had been stationed at Fairbanks, since last April.

Cross, who was at one time employed in the composing room of The Daily Enterprise, attended the Saranac Lake High School. He served a year and a half in the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1945.

His body is being accompanied to this country by his brother, William, and by his widow, and two month-old baby, who have been living at Fairbanks.

Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Monday in [[St.%20Bernard's%20Church|St. Bernard's Church]] for Richard Edward Cross, son of Mrs. Eunice Cross, of [[Ray%20Brook|Ray Brook]], who was killed in a plane crash December 31, 1951, west of Fairbanks, Alaska.

Cross, an airplane mechanic, with three other crew members, were making an instrument approach to Fairbanks when the plane crashed on the Chena Ridge

He was born September 13, 1927 in Ticonderoga, the son of Joseph and Eunice Cross. Survivors also include his widow and baby, of Schenectady.

The body will repose at the Fortune Funeral Chapel Sunday. The local Lodge of Elks will conduct memorial services at 8 o'clock Sunday night, followed by the Ray Brook Chapter, Civil Service Employees rites at 8:15.

Cross was a veteran of World War II from February 5, 1945 to July 1, 1946.

Following funeral services, the body will be placed in the [[Pine%20Ridge%20Cemetery|Pine Ridge Cemetery]] vault to await burial in the spring.
