ALBANY - Daniel Henry Mahoney, 71, of 64 Euclid Ave., Albany, died Monday, Sept. 4, 1995 at his summer home, the Riddle Cottage at [[Saranac%20Inn|Saranac Inn]].

[[File:IMG_0960.jpg|right|thumb||Riddle Cottage, 2011]]Born in Dannemora, he graduated from Plattsburgh High School, Plattsburgh State Teacher's *College and St. Lawrence University. He received his law degree from St. John's Law School.

Mr. Mahoney was admitted to practice law in New York state in 1949, was admitted before the Supreme Court of the United States in 1968, and was a prominent trrial attorney in Albany and across the state. He was the charter president of the Capital District Trial Lawyers, past president of the New York State Trial Lawyers, was on the board of governors of the Trial Lawyers of America, on the faculty of the Albany County Bar Association and the Advanced College of Advocacy of the ATLA.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Joan Fleet Mahoney; six sons, Steven of Saratoga, Daniel of Albany, John of Washington, D.C., Leslie of Slingerlands; George of Latham and John W. C. of Brewster; two daughters, Deborah of Albany and Laurie of Stamford, Conn.; and three grandchildren.

Calling hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Tebbutt Funeral Home in Albany. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Holy Cross Church in Albany. A burial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in [[St.%20John%27s%20Cemetery|St. John's Cemetery]] in [[Lake%20Clear|Lake Clear]]. Memorial donations may be made to the Albany Academy Alumni Scholarship Fund-Daniel H. Mahoney.
