Gorgas]] and family from the 1940s through the 1970s. It was located at the northeastern end of [[Pope%20Bay|Pope Bay]].

Chris Gorgas, John's grandson, writes:

My brother Keith knew the old lock tender up on the river heading up to [[Middle%20Saranac%20Lake|Middle]] very well... [[Ken%20Seymour|Ken Seymour]] was his name... Keith took me to show Ken the day I caught my first bass, at the mouth of that river, using the Lazy Ike lure.
