'''Timothy L. Jock''' was elected [[Mayor|Mayor]] of Saranac Lake for six terms, from 1979 to 1987 and from 1995 to 1998.  He decided not to seek re-election after his first term as mayor, but in 1977 he was appointed to a vacant seat on the board. In 1979, Jock ran for mayor again and won, after which he was re-elected four times in a row. He chose not to run in 1987.  He was known for his direct, fiery style. 

He moved to Saranac Lake in 1968 to attend [[North%20Country%20Community%20College|North Country Community College]], graduating with a social science degree. He worked for Prudential Insurance Company and as a cook at [[Camp%20Gabriels|Camp Gabriels]].  He was also involved with the [[Pendragon%20Theatre|Pendragon Theatre]].
