'''William A. Walton''' was in a hardware partnership with [[George%20L.%20Starks|George L. Starks]] and [[Michael%20J.%20Callanan|Michael J. Callanan]] in 1895. After five years, he sold his interest to those two men, and on March 31, 1906, he and [[Henry%20H.%20Tousley|Henry H. Tousley]] formed [[Walton%20and%20Tousley%20Hardware|Walton and Tousley Hardware]], Inc.  A Republican, in the early 1900s he represented Harrietstown on the Board of Supervisors, and served as president of the [[Saranac%20Lake%20Federal%20Savings%20and%20Loan%20Association|Saranac Lake Federal Savings and Loan Association]]. <sup>2</sup>  He was a member of the [[First%20United%20Methodist%20Church|First United Methodist Church]].  He died of Bright's disease (kidney failure).
