Dr. Frederick Beck was speaker at a meeting of Tuberculosis Associations within the Ray Brook Hospital District, held yesterday at Ray Brook for the purpose of establishing a Research and Patient Service Committee at the Hospital.

Dr. Beck reviewed his Research work in other areas before coming to Ray Brook and spoke of the support given by T.B. Associations to research through Christmas Seal Funds.

By majority vote of the T.B. Associations present, the Research and Service Committee for Ray Brook Tuberculosis Hospital was established, with Dr. J.P. Patton of Ogdensburg, Chairman, W. J. Highland of Malone, Treasurer, and Mrs. Karl Eagan of Watertown, Secretary.

Dr. Bernard E. Hughes and Mrs. E. V. Green of the State Committee on T. B. and Public Health, also Mrs. E. R. Brown, Field Consultant for northern New York Associations, attended from New York City.

The following County Associations were represented: St. Lawrence, Lewis, Jefferson, Oswego, Clinton, Hamilton, Warren, Franklin, Essex and Saranac Lake TB Society. The object of this Committee is to give coordinated assistance to the Hospital for their research program from the T.B. associations within the Ray Brook Hospital District to serve as a non-profit organization in conjunction with and under advisement of Dr. Beck and to render assistance and aid wherever desirable and possible.

The next meeting of the Research Committee will be held at Ray Brook Hospital on September 9, 1958.
