Phyllis Norman Knobel went to work for the General Hospital of Saranac Lake in January, 1949, where she served as the head nurse of the emergency room for 27 years, retiring in March 1984. She lived at 20 Lake Flower Avenue from 1954 through at least 1970.
She was the daughter of bank director Thomas C. Norman, Sr..
