Old Address: 156 Broadway, then 158 Broadway
Other names: E&M Market and Deli
Year built: 1984
The E&M Market was a small grocery store that opened in 1979 at 156 Broadway Ernie and Martha Latreille (hence the name E&M). When the owner of 156 sought a rent increase, John Walter Kent bought the lot next door that had been the site of the Broadway School and built the present structure in 1984.
They fielded a softball team in the 1980s. Judith Vaughn worked there for a time, as did Barbara Baldwin.
In 2011 it was sold to Pragna Prajapati who operated it as a convenience store and deli with her husband Paresh until 2015.
