Patient Record for Isobel Millen. From the collection of the Adirondack Room at the Saranac Lake Free Library.

Born: February 15, 1894

Died: June 24, 1976, Ottawa

Married: Melbourne Tait Bancroft

Children: 3

Isobel Millen (full name Laura Isobel Millen) came to Saranac Lake from Westmount, Montreal, QC with tuberculosis on May 16, 1908. She was a patient for 6-8 months. She wrote in her diary that she convalesced on her porch in Montreal for about another year after returning home, and corresponded with Dr. Kinghorn about her exercises. A patient record for Isobel lists her as 14 years old, and staying with Mrs. Pearse, at Front Street (likely Pearse Cottage).
