Bridgmans Celebrate Wedding Anniverary

Mr. and Mrs, Charles Bridgman of Ray Brook were feted at a dinner Sunday afternoon at the Majestic restaurant in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The party was given by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Waiter Babbie of Ray Brook and Mr. and Mrs. William Wallis of Lake Placid Club.

The couple was married in Woodstock, Vt., on Jan. 4, 1898. They came to this section in 1917 when Mr. Bridgman assumed the position of purchasing agent at the Lake Placid Club.

In 1922, they moved to Ray Brook where they operated the former Overlook hotel, now the site of the White Elephant cottages. Mr. Bridgman is assessor, tax collector and dog enumerator for the Town of North Elba.
