John Langloth Loeb, Sr., was a banker and, in 1937, the co-founder with his father, Carl Loeb of [Rhoades & Co.], a predecessor of Shearson Lehman/American Express. He owned Gull Bay Camp on Upper Saranac Lake. In 1970, New York Governor [Rockefeller] appointed him to the original Adirondack Park Agency board.
