Judd H. Kelley was born in Saranac Lake, New York, the child of James and Beaulah "Lula" Kelley.  His wife Carrie (Moody) Kelly passed away giving birth to their second child.  He then married Hazel Montena in 1920. He died in his hometown, at the age of 62, and was buried in North Elba, New York.

He owned a local bus line at the time of his death.

BUS LINE SOLD

The Public Service Commission has approved the sale of a bus line operation between Saranac Lake and nearby Trudeau sanatorium by the estate of the late Judd H. Kelly to Maurice Hesseltine of Saranac Lake.
