STRUCK BY BROKEN PULLEY
Michael Tormey Instantly Killed at Cadyville Yesterday.
Mr. Michael Tormey, aged 73 years, an highly respected citizen of Cadyville, was instantly killed on Monday morning by being struck by a broken pulley wheel at the Baker Brothers' Lumber Co.'s mill at Onchiota. He was a former resident of Plattsburgh, moving here over twenty years ago to build and operate the saw mill for W. W. Hartwell, and in whose employ he remained as superintendent for many years, or until the mill was closed.
He was connected with the Forest Commission for some time. For the past year he was employed by the Baker Brothers.
He was an active member of St. James church, and was a man of kindly thought and good deeds, devotedly attached to his family, and with many warm personal friends, who will deeply sympathize with the sorrow-stricken family.
He is survived by his wife and sons, Michael, of New York city; William, of Dawson City, Alaska; Charles, of Onchiota; Frank and George, and daughters, Fannie and Gertrude, who reside here. Funeral announcement later.
