Remaining one-room school houses add to history of region

Going down the Cold Brook Road [from Vermontville] to where it meets the Fletcher Farm Road, there is a former one-room school house that is now the home of Cliff and Doe Smalley, Keep on that road, going to the Lower Franklin Falls Road, cross the bridge and as you head toward the back side of Whiteface Mountain, you will come to several homes.. On your right there is a one room school house that is white with red trim. That was called the St. Armands School.
