Sam E. Senseney was the owner of a theatre in Moran, Kansas, and came to Will Rogers to take the cure in the early 1950s. While there, he learned pottery and leatherwork in the occupational therapy program. Once he was well, he used those skills to establish an Occupational Therapy program at the Southeast Kansas Tuberculosis Hospital in Chanute.
