Born: c. 1917
Lars Kyrkjebo was a Norwegian seaman who cured at the Spear Cottage. He wrote an undated postcard to Emma Spear and Pat Spear: "Thank you for the card I received today. I was glad to hear from you. I am glad you are well. I am feeling well to. I came to my home for five days ago. Everything is OK. Give my best to Lucy and the other in the house. Shall send you a letter by and by. Let me hear from you soon. LARS [C. or E.] KYRKJEBO" The postcard is in the collection of Historic Saranac Lake.
On October 28, 1945, a former patient named Nils (probably Nils Milvartsen) sent a postcard postmarked Oslo addressed to Mr. P. Spear: "Dear Emma and Pat, I am often thinking of you two. How are you both? Have you gotten any winter yet. Over here we have it wet and nasty. Send my regards to all. I am sending the best wishes from all of us. Lars left for home two days ago. [Sven? Even?] was home for five days. Love, Nils"
