Julia Heathcock Norton graduated as a registered nurse from Baroness Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., in 1938. She worked with the Red Cross in Chattanooga during World War II. In 1947 she moved to Saranac Lake and worked as a nurse at Trudeau Sanatorium and the Saranac Lake General Hospital, where she became director of nurses. In 1969, she moved to the Albany area.
