Dave Cilley bought the property in 1987 from Loren and Keturah Cheney, who had used it as a hunting camp.  They may also have rented row boats whenever they were at camp.  They purchased it from the Pennsylvania & New York Railroad (Penn Central) in 1968.  The building may have served as a freight depot, as there is a large platform scale and other train equipment there.
