Dr. Donald A. Richter established the first anesthesia practice in Saranac Lake in 1946, and practiced medicine here for 30 years.
He held platform tent permits on both Lower Saranac Lake and Long Pond, and led a brief effort to convince the state to continue the permits when they were discontinued in the early 1970s.
Dr. Richter's obituary appeared in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise around December 26, 2010.
