A former resident writes: "The house shows on a map from 1850. The front part is older than the rest, it had 3 additions put on. We found newspapers in the wall from of newest part from about 1878 when we were renovating the inside. At one time it was part of a dairy farm that provided for hotels on Lower Saranac Lake, and the property extended down to the shores of Lake Colby."
