Hold Funeral Rites For Forrest Glenn

A 9:30 funeral mass was conducted at St. Bernard’s Church this morning for Forrest Glenn. Rev. Earl Nichols officiated. Burial followed in the Will Rogers’ plot in St. Bernard’s Cemetery.

Mr. Glenn, a former actor, came to Will Rogers Hospital for his health in 1939. He died there early Tuesday morning. Members of the hospital staff served as pall bearers.

A full 7 feet, four inches in height, he was affectionately known as “Slim.” It was necessary to have an especially built coffin made for him in Boyertown, Pa., and it was brought to Saranac Lake by truck. The coffin, said to be the largest ever made in the industry was eight feet, four inches long and 40 inches wide.
