Year built: c.1917

Other information: A Dutch Colonial Revival-style house. It was the home of Dr. Carl Merkel, a T.B. surgeon; his son, Dr. David Merkel, also a surgeon, lived there as a boy.

In May of 1918, the Enterprise reported that Duryee & Company had rented 160 Park Avenue to William Hanes of North Carolina, well known as a manufacturer of underwear, and said to be a TB patient.
