Gordon Francis Latour| (left), Albert James Latour (right) ]]Private Albert James Latour served in World War II in the 338th Infantry Regiment, 85th Infantry Division. Entering the service in October of 1943, he was killed in Italy on September 26, 1944 while serving with the 5th Army of Lieutenant General Mark Clark. He received the Purple Heart posthumously. He is buried in the Florence American Cemetery, Via Cassia, Italy, Plot E Row 2, Grave 20.

Pvt. Latour Killed

Pvt. Albert J. Latour, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Latour of 45 Broadway, Saranac Lake was killed in action on September 26 in Italy. He has been over seas since March, 1944 and his last letter home was dated the day he was killed. He is also survived by his brother, S. Sgt. Gordon F. Latour who is also stationed in Italy.
