Nancy Moriarty, 71, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at the Adirondack Medical Center after a brief illness.

Nancy was born on April 11, 1951, in Far Rockaway, Queens, the daughter of Angelo and Anna (Pontrello) Carrera.

Nancy owned and operated the Lake Flour Cakery on River Street for 24 years. Many weddings, birthdays and anniversaries were celebrated with her delicious creations. Nancy graduated from Plattsburgh State University and earned a Baking Certificate from Paul Smith’s College.

She is survived by her husband Paul and son Jason, both of Saranac Lake.

Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to the Tri-Lakes Humane Society and Saranac Lake Rescue Squad.
