Birger Kornelius Olsen was one of the Norwegian Sailors who cured in Saranac Lake during World War II. A motorman, he was in allied service during the war, his last ship being Topdalsfjord. Unfortunately, no "Report of a Case of Tuberculosis" card was found for him in the Adirondack Collection of the Saranac Lake Free Library. Birger Olsen is commemorated at the Memorial for Seamen in Stavern, Norway (external link). He is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery with the other Norwegian sailors.
