Julia Haslup Richards Cascio was born in Baltimore, Maryland, where she worked as a nurse in a TB hospital. She was a nurse in Saranac Lake for a while before she married Anthony Cascio. She died after an unsuccessful appendectomy at age 37.  She is buried in a section of St. Bernard's Cemetery that is believed to have been used for those who were unbaptised.

She was a daugher of[Richards] and [Burroughs].
