Emerson D. Wertz was a Miami, Florida civil engineer and real estate developer who in 1957 developed the Blythmere property on Upper Saranac Lake as Saranac Shores and Camp Gricoq on the north shore of Gull Point as the Gull Point Subdivision.

In 1963, Wertz and [Casier]

 bought most of the outstanding shares of the Rockledge Park Co. stock from Mrs. Pauline Newton and her son, Edwin; in 1965, Casier became the sole owner.
