Shooting Victim Member Pioneer Family

Mrs. James W. Moody, 65, of Saranac Lake, killed Tuesday night in a shooting tragedy in which Dr. Nelson Johnson was also murdered and William F. Straight committed suicide, has been a resident of Saranac Lake since 1880.

Widely-known and respected in the community, Mrs. Moody was the owner of considerable property there.

Mrs. Moody was born in Lewis county, her maiden name, Anna Blood. She was a member of the Blood family, intimately connected with the early development of Saranac Lake.

She was married to James W. Moody, member of one of Saranac Lake's pioneer families, in 1890. Mr. Moody survives. Other survivors are Mrs. George Wyman of Mt. Vernon, a daughter, and Mrs. Rose M. Scriver, 9 Bloomingdale avenue, Mrs. Moody's sister.
