DEATH OF WM. J. AYERS.

William J. Ayers, proprietor of Ayers' Hotel, on lake Duane, died at about three o’clock Wednesday morning, of heart failure, aged 72 years. On Tuesday Mr. Ayers was in his usual health and spirits and upon retiring in the evening made no complaint but awoke about 1:30 Wednesday morning and complained of a pain near his heart. A physician who was at the hotel, was called and did what he, could for bite but without avail, as he died in less then two hours.

Mr. Ayers was one of the best known hotel men in the Adirondacks having spent most of his life in that business. He is survived by his wife and son, Watson, of Lake Duane, and one daughter, Mrs. D. Fincke, of Brooklyn.
