"Gentleman" Jim Jennings was the Village police chief in the 1920s and '30s. He owned the house at 23 Marshall Street (now 16 Marshall Street), which his wife operated as a commercial boarding cottage for mobile TB patients, starting soon after renovations were completed in 1923.
