DAVID G. CRONK, a civil war veteran, and one of the best known guides in the Adirondacks, was buried at Saranac Lake on Sunday last. Mr. CRONK, who was 65 years of age at the time of his death, had acted as guide for many noted people during his lifetime, among whom were ex-President Cleveland, WM. C. WHITNEY, DANIEL S. LAMONT and THOS. BLAGDEN. He was highly regarded by all who knew him.


David G. Cronk was a member of Co. A, 2nd Regiment NY Vet. Cav., according to Betty J. Pratt's typescript dated January 2001 and titled "Civil War Veterans," found in the Adirondack Collection of the Saranac Lake Free Library.
