Malone Farmer, April 9, 1924

Recently an inheritance tax of about $1,100 was assessed against the estate of Augustus W. Durkee, who died in New York city a year ago. He had a beautiful summer home at Paul Smith's and claimed his residence there. In 1885 he took a photograph of guides in Paul Smith's boat house that Alfred L. Donaldson used in his History of the Adirondacks.
