Plattsburgh Daily Press, September 3, 1906

A party of tourists arrived here on Saturday from Cadyville where  they have been blocked by the logs in the Saranac river, after a long trip down the river from Eagle Island near Waubeek [sic] in Upper Saranac Lake . The party was accompanied by three Saranac Lake guides, Fitzhugh Vogan, "Duck" Derby and William Meagher. The party was handicapped by the number of carries and progress was slow.
