Roby Gifts was a gift shop opened in April 28th 1958 and run by Dot (Gladd) Miller, George and Bill Gladd at 50 Main Street.  It  closed in 1964.  It had previously been Emily Durell's Gifts from about 1953.

Dot, her husband Milton Miller and daughter Pamela lived on the top floor apartment of the building.   However when Pam was four years old Milt committed suicide by shooting himself in the apartment  November 1952.   Dot and Pam continued to live there until the late 1960’s.   Roby was the last name of Dot, George and Bill’s maternal grandmother, Frances Roby, from Malone 1878-1917.
