Michael W. Harrigan was a [War I veteran].  He was a son of James and Sarah Clark Harrigan.

Michael Harrigan

Michael W. Harrigan of 1 Dorchester Rd., Saranac Lake, a Railway  Express agent for 43 years, died Monday at Albany Veterans Hospital after a long illness.

He was born Sept. 25, 1898, in Chateaugay, a son of James and Sarah Clark Harrigan. He served in the Navy in World War I and was a member of American Legion Post 447. He also was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway and Steamship Clerks, Freight Handlers Express and Station Employees.

His wife, Laretta, [sic] is deceased.

Survivors are two sons, Michael L. and Ronald of Saranac Lake; a daughter., Mrs. Leo (Bernadette) Derby of Malone; eight grandchildren; a brother, James; two sisters, Theresa Jones and Sady Stoffel of Saranac Lake.

Friends may call at the Fortune Funeral Home where there will be a veterans service at 7:30 this evening followed by a Rosary Service at 8 o'clock.  A Roman Catholic Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a. m. Friday at the Methodist Church. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in May.
