Virginia Mason was the daughter of Emeline M. Schiller and Walter Schiller. She lived at 27 Lake Street in Saranac Lake, New York.

She served as president of the Adirondack chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Club.  She also spent more than three decades working and volunteering at St. Bernard's Parish.
