Benjamin E. Banker, Sr. was a [War II veteran].  He was a son of Charles and Myrtle Skiff Banker.

SARANAC LAKE - The funeral service for Benjamin E. Banker, Sr., 52, who died Sunday morning at the Smithtown, L.I., General Hospital while visiting his son in Smithtown, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Fortune Funeral Home. The Rev. Eric R. King, pastor of the Methodist Church, will conduct the service. Interment will be in Harrietstown Cemetery in May.

Friends may call this evening, after 7 o'clock, and Wednesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Banker was born in Peru, a son of Charles and Myrtle Skiff Banker, and had lived in Saranac Lake most of his life. He was a paratrooper in World War II and, for many years, was a self-employed roofer.

Survivors are: his wife, Jesslyn Gonyea Banker; seven sons, Benjamin, Jr. of Long Island; Lynn of Saranac Lake, Richard of Fredericksburg, Va., Joseph, Gordon, Raymond and Julius of Saranac Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Jesslyn Boyea of Saranac Lake and Mrs. Mary Finlayson of Duane; a sister, Mrs. Leo (Elizabeth) Gates of Pittsburgh; and nine grandchildren
