Dr. Howard Bucknell was from East Hampton, Long Island.  He built Sunset Camp on Upper Saranac Lake.  He was the son of Emma W. Bucknell, who built the lodge, and [Bucknell], for whom Bucknell University is named.

In 1952, he caught a 23-pound, 37-inch lake trout on Follensby Pond
