Malone Palladium, January 21, 1904
The twelfth annual meeting of the Adirondack Guides Association was held in the opera house at Saranac Lake on Wednesday of last week, and was followed by a banquet and ball in the evening. The meeting was a very interesting one, and a number of questions of importance to guides were discussed, and a resolution was adopted urging the enactment by the State Legislature of a law giving more protection to black bear. HARRY V. RADFORD, editor of Woodsand Waters, was present and made a strong speech favoring the enactment of such a measure. The association will again have an exhibition at the Sports men's show in New York, and the sum of $75 was voted at this meeting toward defraying the expense of the same. The officers elected for 1904 are: Honorary President, Dr. F. E. KENDALL; president, P. A. SOLOMAN; secretary, FRANK VOSBURGH; treasurer, B. R. MOODY. Vice-Presidents were chosen as follows; GEO. C. GARWOOD, Saranac Lake; J. H. WADDLE, Blue mountain Lake; ED. DUSTIN, Paul Smith's; Geo. C. DERBY, Saranac Inn; LUCIAN TRIM, Duane; E. J. CHASE, Newcomb.
